Our thanks to the Rambutan Man

Before we left PA, our neighbor Tony, encouraged us to keep an eye out for a certain fruit in Dubai. He used to live in Malaysia and was keen on eating rambutans. I've been watching for them in the market, and this week, Spinney's delivered at a cost of only $2.98 USD! What is a rambutan, you ask? Check it out....

You can get the details on wikipedia.com, but the main thing to know is that they are delicious! You peel away the prickly but soft outside to reveal the glowing white fruit. The texture is like a grape, but the taste is sweeter than a plum. YUM! Scott and I are hooked (and Scott really did not want to like it)!

Hey, thanks for making me famous!

So pleased you followed up on my recommendation and have taken to the rambutan. Now you'll be able to bring a few back to the US for me (don't believe the stories you hear about the importation of fruit and vegetables without a license being a criminal offense -- there's a statutory exception for the rambutan, really there is).

Love and best wishes from all of us to all of you.
